A client in the Eliot Neighborhood of Portland, OR called us to see if we could trim the Choisya hedge in the front garden. After arriving on site and taking a look, it was clear that there was an opportunity to really enhance the garden by removing the majority of Choisya to reveal the beautiful Jasmine, Rose and Azalea that had perviously been blocked by the hedge. This was also a great opportunity to extend the bed and build off of those existing elements to create a dynamic garden with proportions that felt more appropriate in relationship to the home. Because this client requested that the garden be generally low maintenance we chose plants that would impress with their foliage color and texture as apposed to a show of perennial flowers that would require more care. These photos show the garden’s progress over the course of three years. Project Completed 2018
